Continuing the previous two entries about my trip to Rome here follows what we saw on the third day. After leaving the hotel we took the subway in the direction of the Colosseum. It’s interesting how artistic Roman youth is. It wasn’t just the colorful subway but also the uncountable walls full of graffiti that we found. Fortunately there is either too much security near temples and important monuments or maybe it’s just that even rebellious street painters respect them. — 2011-01-23

Small Details About Rome

Besides the big attractions that I mentioned in my previous post Rome also has a lot of details for those times when you are not in front of a several hundred tons architectural structure that is older than you and several generations of your ancestors. Street performers were everywhere. Not just in Piazza del Popolo or Piazza Navona but in the middle of the street like the creepy silent red man with white face. — 2010-12-05

Rome

A few days ago I took a trip to Rome. I had heard that there were monuments from past eras and a lot of art but all that felt short to what I experienced. We arrived at night when the city was covered by a black cloack. The moment we left the hotel the next morning I felt transported to another era. In an area of Rome full of embassies. The city felt a little bit like Madrid but with warmer colors like orange, yellow and white. — 2010-11-20
